Prerequisites A new Buzzscribed account
In a nutshell: A new Buzzscribed tenant needs eight setup steps before it is ready for the team to work in: pick a platform mode, add branding, configure the email service and sending domain, invite team members, set up email templates, import existing media contacts, add the first Client, and create the first campaign. This course covers each step in order.
What this course covers
Course 0 is the new-tenant setup path. Walk it in order and a fresh Buzzscribed account becomes a working agency tool ready for daily use. The eight steps:
- Setting Up Your Platform Mode -- pick the menu shape (Pitch / Report / Campaign / Business).
- Branding Your Account -- logo and colours that flow to reports, portals and emails.
- Email Service & Domain Authentication -- the SPF / DKIM setup that makes outbound email land in the inbox rather than spam.
- Inviting Team Members -- add users with the three roles (Admin / Power / User).
- Managing Email Templates -- reusable layouts for pitches, confirmations, EDM and invoices.
- Importing Media Contacts -- bring an existing journalist list across by paste-from-spreadsheet.
- Adding Your First Client & Brand -- the first Client record in the CRM.
- Building Your First Campaign -- the end-to-end flow that creates the first Story on a blank tenant.
Each article in this course is a focused 3-5 minute read.
What you see on first login
The platform opens on Home -- the customisable dashboard, with widgets for KPIs, pending reviews, recent activity and a guided tour.
Top-right of every page is THE HIVE: three tabs covering Preferences, Ask Support and the Learning Centre. Admin and Power users also see a Tenant Admin link from here.
The Buzzscribed logo top-left returns to Home from any page.
Two help surfaces, always available
- Ask Ralph
- An AI assistant accessible from a panel inside the working pages (Campaign Builder, Account Management and others). Ralph reads the page context and answers questions grounded in it. Useful for spot questions during setup.
- Learning Centre
- THE HIVE > LEARNING CENTRE. Six courses covering tenant setup (this course), platform vocabulary, campaign workflow, advanced pitching, CRM, business development and the end-to-end PR professional path.
The setup order matters
Some steps depend on others:
- Email Service authentication can take up to 48 hours for DNS propagation. Start it early in setup so the team is not blocked on first send.
- Inviting team members is easier once the mode and branding are set -- new users land in a configured tenant rather than a blank one.
- Importing contacts before the first campaign means the pitch lists are ready when the first Story is built.
- Adding the first Client is a prerequisite for an Engagement (the agreement); the Engagement is what generates the first Story.
The eight articles in this course are ordered to respect those dependencies. Walk them top to bottom on Day 1.
Frequently asked
- Where do I change my password?
- THE HIVE > PREFERENCES > Reset Password.
- Can I customise the Home dashboard?
- Yes. The widgets are draggable and resizable; use the customise control by the welcome message to toggle which ones appear.
- I cannot see some menu items a colleague has.
- Either a different platform mode (Pitch shows fewer items than Business) or a different user role. The Platform Mode article in this course covers the mode picker.
- How long does the full setup take?
- About 2-3 hours of active work spread across 48 hours, with the DNS propagation step running in the background.
